Whether they win or lose, the pieces on the chess board always have a lot to say. After the disastrous game depicted in the film "Damned", the director of the film sat down with three of the combatants to get their unique perspectives on the game.

 

Well, Knight, it looks like you guys didn't have anything going for you out there tonight.

 

No. Nothing went right.

 

We started off badly and we didn't respond to the pressure. We just packed it in.

 

We have nobody to blame but ourselves.

 

And that idiot up there playing.

 

Yeah.

 

That brings up an interesting question. How much control do you guys really have over the outcome of a game?

 

None.

 

Very little.

 

If we have faith in our player, we will prevail. The player is our shepherd.

 

We're the sheep.

 

We got slaughtered.

 

It's really frustrating, you know. To be immobile.

 

It's not like we want to lose. It's not our fault we've got no legs.
